Thousands screened. Hundreds donating. And one campus community responding together.

3,328. That is how many people underwent eye screening through a community health initiative organised by VNRVJIET in association with the Boppana Sarath Gopal Foundation and healthcare partners.

The initiative covered students, faculty, staff, housekeeping and security personnel. Housekeeping and security staff identified as requiring spectacles were provided them free of cost, while concessional support was made available to other members of the campus community.

And then came another number. 742. That is the number of units of blood collected during the subsequent blood-donation drive. Actor Allari Naresh also visited the campus during the initiative to encourage participants.

Numbers can sometimes make stories feel impersonal. Here they do the opposite. They demonstrate scale. Thousands screened. Hundreds donating. And one campus community responding together. Because institutional social responsibility becomes meaningful only when people participate in it.
