Entrepreneurship stories are often told backwards. We see the award. The company. The funding. The television appearance. What we do not always see is where the story started.
For Sreekanth Kommula, it started at VNRVJIET. In 2016, the year he graduated, Sreekanth joined classmates Kausthub Kaundinya and Anand Kumar to co-found what became Jarsh Safety, a Hyderabad-based industrial safety-technology company.
As Co-Founder and CTO, Sreekanth leads engineering and R&D. The company's journey began with its ActivCooling Helmet and later expanded into a portfolio of more than 20 safety products. Today, its technologies serve organisations across sectors, while around 1.2 lakh SmartVolt non-contact voltage-detection wearables are being used to help protect workers from electrical hazards.
In 2025, Jarsh Safety was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list in the Industry, Manufacturing & Energy category. The team later appeared on Shark Tank India Season 4, received offers from all four Sharks and closed a deal with Aman Gupta.
